The Bible says, “My ways are higher than your ways.” God says, “My ways are not your ways, my ways are higher” and the Bible also says, “The heart is deceitful above all else. Who can trust it?” 

That can make you think, “Ahhhhh, how do I trust myself, right?” The scripture that says the heart is deceitful above all else, it’s really meaning like we are in a process of being transformed into the image of God. And so, the more we’re being transformed into the image of God, the more we can trust our heart. The more our heart will be aligned with God. So, that scripture is not talking to mature believers that have been transformed, but at the same time, the heart wants something, it can be a good desire, not a bad desire, like a certain timing, but God’s timing is different so you can be like “I want this right now!” And it’s a good desire. It can be like the ministry to grow. And so, “I want this now” but God’s timing is over here. In that circumstance you have this good desire, but you could be distracted by this good desire and start to get depressed and annoyed and bitter towards God when His will was just different. We have to always be aware that God’s will many times is different than our will. His timing’s different. And so, we can’t trust our heart completely. We have to put all our trust in God. We have to know we can be wrong sometimes. Also, the scripture that says, “My ways are higher than yours” is the same meaning. You can have good, beautiful desires, but it might not be God’s timing. God might have a GREATER plan. They’re HIGHER. His ways are HIGHER. “I want to do exceedingly beyond whatever you could ask, think, dream, or imagine. Don’t settle, you're holding on to something but it’s settling, I have more”.
